I am really going to try harder to update my blogs more often. I’m sure it will become easier when the kids go back to school. My days are not really my own right now. Were they ever? In one more year they will be….at least from 9am to 2pm. A whole five hours!
There are so many things going on in our lives right now. Gabe is away for five more weeks (six total). He’s at MSgt. Training. We miss him a ton. But it’s just something he has to do. He was going to go to Iraq for six months but the commander squashed the orders due to low manning. So it could be worse.
He did come home for the weekend this time though. He won’t be able to do it again for a few more weeks. While he was here we bought a new stove and an over the range microwave. It does feel good to make some progress in the renovation process. The only thing is that the delivery guys won’t mess with gas at all. So I will have to disconnect the old one and reconnect the new one. I am a bit freaked out about that. The two things I do NOT want to mess with are gas and electrical. I am going to see if the gas company will come out and do it for me. Thankfully we realized that the stove we bought is a bit too big for the space. Gabe and I removed the granite counter top before he had to leave. Now the new stove will fit and we will just re secure the counter top when Gabe gets home.
This weekend my cousin Megan, her husband and kiddos are coming out to visit. They are in Alabama right now. It will be nice to see them again. My kids haven’t ever met hers. It will be fun to see how they get along. Hopefully they will! :)
